About Island Home Energy Retrofit
We are a Licensed Residential Building company, serving the communities of Oceanside, Vancouver Island, specializing in deep energy retrofits to existing homes. We work with Certified Energy Advisors to design a plan to make your home comfortable and affordable to heat in the winter and cool in the summer while maximizing all available Rebates.
While we are in the process of improving our clients’ energy efficiency, we are often asked to undertake other renovation work that is needed in the home, which we are happy to do.
We offer years of construction experience, with Red Seal Journeyman Carpenters on staff, Worksafe BC coverage, Commercial General Liability Insurance, and Home Warranty Insurance. We are also a member of the Canadian Home Builder’s Association Vancouver Island.

Rebates and Grants for Energy Renovation
Part of our service is helping our client take advantage of all funds available for Energy Renovations.
As we are a Registered Contractor with the Home Performance Contractor Network, our clients are eligible to receive grants and rebates through Clean BC, BC Hydro, and Fortis.
We will advise you on other available programs through the government and other agencies to maximize your funding.

We coordinate the workplace for
minimal disruption.
As your Energy Renovator and Project Manager, we coordinate the work and any trade contractors to fit into your schedule as best as possible. We stay in constant contact with our clients.
Energy renovations can usually be done in stages and most of the time do not require the homeowner to vacate their home during the duration of construction.
We are involved throughout the
whole process.
We apply for all required permits, eligible grants and rebates, prepare the site for any demolition necessary, set up scaffolding, replace windows and doors, install insulation on exterior walls and in attics, and advise on whether your site is a good candidate for solar PV system.
Our Licensed HVAC contractor will suggest options for you on your heating and ventilation needs.
We are able to do other homes
renovations in addition.
If you should also need other home renovations done, we are able to complete those for you as well.
As we are a Licensed Residential Builder and carry Home Warranty Insurance we are able to construct any additions to your existing home you may be planning.
STEPS TO ACHIEVE

01 CALL
Call us (toll free) for a free consultation. We will setup an appointment to come inspect your home.
02 INSPECT
During this consultation, we’ll go over your issues and then do an interior and exterior inspection of the house.
There are a number of reasons why a home may be using more energy than necessary. The whole house must be assessed as one unit as all components are integral to each other. As an example, replacing windows will be not effective unless leaks in the attic are sealed.
03 PLAN
We will then make recommendations of the most effective solutions, the order in which the work should be completed for maximum benefit, as well as available eligible rebates.
04 QUOTE
Once a plan of action is agreed upon, we will provide a quotation and time estimate. Upon acceptance of the quotation, we will proceed with the work.
